Piano vs Keyboard?

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could replace a piano with a keyboard from Wal Mart or Costco?  With new pianos starting at over $4,000.00, a $199.00 keyboard sure looks like a good idea.  But to be honest with you, this is just not possible.  I get so tired of talking to frustrated teachers who are working with students who have only a keyboard to practice on.  Parents want to give their children lessons, but don’t want the expense of buying a piano.  All the work of the teacher is to no avail because all of the work is done at home!  One teacher told me her student might as well be practicing on a trombone.

When you buy a $200 keyboard and find that its not doing the job, you have go back out looking again, but that $200 is gone.  Wouldn’t it be better to bite the bullet and get (not a $4,000.00 new piano) a decent used piano?  There are plenty out there for under $1,000.00.  Once you’ve done this, your part of the equation is done. Now its up to the teacher and the child.  If you do need a better piano years down the road, trade the old one in at full value, you lose nothing.

Please check out our used piano page.  These pianos are tuned to concert pitch, have a bench, and come with free delivery.  Back to school is just around the corner.  Grab one before the inventory shrinks.
